How to train as an English teacher?

What do you teach as an English teacher?

If it is a new learning phase, for you, then you will learn to interact with people that come from different ways of thinking and cultures. This will give you the ability to adapt your lessons according to each student’s needs. It will be able to improve your teaching skills on a daily basis.
Can you be a teacher without majoring in education?
One of the requirements is for you to be a teacher is to have a degree of a 2:2 or above. You need to have a (QTS) which is a qualified teacher status, and some school experience. This is a requirement in order to teach in a state school in the United Kingdom. A few private schools and academies might recruit teachers without a degree, but it would be difficult to progress.
You should have a well-known EFL or teaching certificate. We have some flexibility on the type of EFL Certificate, but it should be close to a Celta or something similar. If you come from the State School System, then we will need for you to show a B.Ed and a well-known teaching certificate.
If you have a diploma or are knowledgeable in fields such as Commerce, Law, Aviation or Medicine, then I strongly suggest for you to let us know.
How long does it take to become an English teacher?
Most courses are of about 120 hours. But in our case, students can choose the number of hours that they would like to study with their tutor. This is usually done up to three hours a day, five days a week, but you also choose from ten hours a week up to thirty hours.

How can I get a teaching certificate without a teaching degree?
1. You have to choose a bachelor’s degree and teacher preparation program.
The way to stay to standard certification begins with having an undergraduate degree. Every teaching candidate should specialize on the age range and grade level that they wish to teach. For instance, a major in Elementary education would be perfect for those who are looking to teach kindergarten through 5th grade. Another factor that is necessary to have is traditional licensure like the completion of a teacher preparation programme. You can be a teaching candidate and also complete our programme in a simultaneous fashion.
2. Complete a student teaching experience.
All certification programmes should include basic and practical teaching experience which is why with our course you will have intense and daily interaction with students.
3. Take the required exam(s) for educators.
When you complete your teacher preparation programme, you will be able to take the exams that are required for prospective educators. If you have financial difficulties, then you should plan for the fee that you will be paying.

4. Find an alternative route to a teachers preparation programme.

Another factor that I consider necessary to mention is that there are different methods of teaching English that can be put together under a single term. But not all English teachers would agree on this matter due to the fact that they consider not accurate to only use one term to describe how a language should be taught. The term TESOL is used in American English, and it includes TEFL and TESL. This is also used in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. But it is a well-known fact that British English uses ELT because it has a slightly different and specific meaning. ELT is an abbreviation for the term English Language Teaching. Now, TEFL teaches the English language to students with various first languages. This type of teaching can take place in a school system or in a more private environment with a private tutor.
