I am CELTA qualified and have been hosting students at home for eight years. I teach General English, English for Business, as well as exam preparation including IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC and Cambridge. Before teaching I was a journalist for 25 years. All levels of English are catered for, from beginner to advanced, with one-to-one lessons designed to be formal but fun, tailored to individual needs and learning styles. Lessons are intensive but informal in format, as I betieve a relaxed approach in a comfortable environment encourages greater learning. The learning process continues throughout the day, with opportunities to practise in a real-life setting, for example during an excursion and at family meal times. We live in a spacious, comfortable Victorian family house, with good transport links from Zone 2 to central London and only a few minutes from the lively centre of Crouch End village. We have two rooms available for students, one double and one single. Both are light and airy and have a desk to study at, along with a large cupboard for clothes storage and a chest of drawers. A separate shower room is available for students’ exclusive use. There is wireless internet access throughout the house. You will enjoy a friendly family welcome, good homecooking and be well looked after as you benefit from the cultural experience of being in a London family home.
