I am CELTA (St Giles, Brighton) and PGCE (Oxford University) qualified and have been teaching since 1990. I have taught English, including business English, in France, Italy and the UK. I love interacting with students of all ages from around the world, welcoming them into my home and showing them Brighton’s many attractions. I am also happy to take students further afield to visit the surrounding countryside and seaside resorts, or to London. My house is centrally located in a quiet neighbourhood in Brighton so it is an easy 10 minute walk to the town centre, the sea and the train station. I live with my husband and a very friendly and laid back elderly Labrador dog. My children have all left home and so we now have spare bedrooms, including an en-suite bedroom if requested. In my spare time I like to play golf and go to the gym. I have completed many long distance walks around the world, but also love to walk in the countryside around Brighton. I enjoy going to the cinema, the theatre and seeing live music – all of which are available a short walk away from my house. I have recently taken up pottery which I am really enjoying although I am not very good at it yet! At home I love to cook and can cater for any dietary requirements.

My house is located on a quiet road in central Brighton. It is an easy 10 minute walk to the town centre, the sea or the train station. Brighton is a seaside city on the south coast of England and is an interesting mix of elegant tradition, contemporary vibrancy and laid back beach life. It is big enough to provide lots of surprises but small enough to explore easily on foot. Many artistic people choose to live here and there are two universities, giving it a youthful feel. Brighton has a royal palace, two historic piers, a marina, museums and art galleries. There is a wide range of interesting shops and cafes. At night it has a lively feel with numerous restaurants, pubs, clubs, cinemas, theatres and live music venues. Lovely countryside lies on Brighton’s doorstep and there are numerous walks with fantastic views. Brighton itself is also very green with many tree lined roads and plenty of parks.
There is much to see and do in Brighton. Brighton Pavilion’s audio tour is very informative and helps you to understand Brighton’s interesting past. Brighton has various museums, art galleries, a marina, two historic piers, an aquarium and the i360 gives you a great view over the city. Further afield there is lovely countryside and other places to visit of historical interest, including Lewes and Arundel. London can be reached by train in around an hour.
