Martin started his career in teaching, in outdoor education before teaching Geography in Secondary schools in Scotland. He moved to Hove from Dundee in 2011 with his family. He is an experienced teacher, a former professional adviser for teaching and a qualified teacher of English as a Foreign Language. Martin gained a Master’s degree in Politics from University of Sussex in 2016 and is now studying for a PhD in Education at UoS. Martin offers excellent teaching to different age groups for: General English, Business English, and Aviation English.

My wife, Cecile, is originally from Brittany in France. We met in Chamonix on a climbing holiday in 2001 and married in 2005. We have two children, Louise (15) and Lucas (14). She is bilingual and has a degree in science from the University of Rennes and a BA in Midwifery from the University of Dundee. Cecile is a former children’s gymnastics coach. We very much enjoy walking and camping often going back to France where we also ski at Christmas time. At home we like to make the most of Hove beach and the South Downs National Park. We live in a typical semi-detached family house, with a garden, in a quiet street. Our house has four bedrooms, a sitting room and a dining room. The student accommodation is a large furnished room with two single beds, a bay window, wall-mounted TV, and desk. We also have or another large room with bunkbeds and a desk. We live 10 minutes’ walk from Hove beach which is great for swimming or water sports in the summer. There are two train stations nearby with regular trains and buses to Brighton town centre.

Martin is married to Cecile. She is a Midwife. They have 2 children.
