About :

Maria and I have been living in this beautiful part of Spain for the past three years. I am Irish and I have worked with R.T.E., Irish television and I have directed numerous stage shows. I have also worked as an English and Drama teacher in schools in Ireland and I now teach English through drama in Spanish schools. My wife Maria is Scottish and she too is an English native speaker. She is also the boss! In addition to my work with young students, I also teach executive Business English and preparation for job interviews in English.

I very much enjoy my work and I like to keep the learning process fun and interesting by having a balance between teaching English for ‘real everyday use’ and grammar and academic English. I have developed English language teaching programmes for young people and adults using drama, which makes the learning process interesting, energetic and real rather than purely academic. In this way students are encouraged to use the language as well as learning the grammar. I work with young people both at school and in the theatre so I combine my experience in both to create confidence in the use of the English language. I believe that you learn faster in a fun, relaxed environment so here, we have a fun in a relaxed environment while being very serious about the learning. Maria and I have two grown up sons- one a TV director in London and the other a police officer in Scotland.

Before moving to Spain, we have been hosting English language students from different countries in our home in Ireland for the past ten years and we have vast experience in looking after students living away from their homes. You are now welcome to our home in Spain where you will live in a totally English speaking environment with an English teacher to help you and give you lessons. Maria likes cooking so no need to worry about meals-they will be enjoyable, varied and good. You will have access to 83 American and British TV channels-for the purpose of listening to different English accents. We also have many books and newspapers in English. We also have high speed internet. Because of the large number of British people living in this area, you will also have many opportunities to use your English on a daily basis. We have a large garden so English lessons will be done outside as well as inside. We also like getting out and about so you will have the opportunity to visit the area. We have easy access to wonderful countryside, fantastic shopping in the City of Malaga and we are two minutes from the sea where you can do all sorts of water sports.
