Discover the Squares Word Game

Squares, also known as Squaredle, is a daily word puzzle where you form words by connecting letters on a grid — up, down, left, right, or diagonally. Your goal: find all the hidden words and earn the maximum score before the day’s puzzle resets at midnight.

Each new puzzle brings a fresh grid and a new challenge for word lovers, puzzle solvers, and anyone who enjoys a daily brain workout.

How to Play Squares (Squaredle)

1. Connect letters in any direction — horizontally, vertically, or diagonally — to form valid English words.

2. Each word must have at least 4 letters.

3. You can’t reuse the same tile within a single word.
   
   

4. You earn 1 point per letter in every valid word. (For example, a 5-letter word = 5 points.)

5. Keep going until you’ve found all the main words or reached the top 5-star score!

You can also rotate the playing board using the arrows at the bottom-right corner — a new angle often reveals hidden word patterns you might have missed.

Rules of the Game

• Words with hyphens, proper nouns, slang, or vulgar language are excluded.

• Rare and obscure words are not part of the main word list but can appear as bonus words.

• After you’ve found 40% of all words, you’ll unlock letter indicators:

• A number in the corner of a tile shows how many remaining words start with that letter.

• If a letter turns orange, it’s no longer part of the main list but can still be used for bonus words.

Bonus Words and Hidden Surprises

Squaredle isn’t just about finding the obvious words — it rewards curiosity and exploration.

• Bonus words include archaic, slang, or uncommon terms.
  They don’t earn points, but they count toward your overall total.

• After completing the main puzzle, you can continue searching for these extra words.

• Each day also includes a “Word of the Day”, a unique bonus word that gives you two extra hints when discovered.

Using Hints

You’ll get 3–5 hints per game, depending on the puzzle’s difficulty level.

• Tap the lightbulb icon to reveal the first letter of a hidden word and the direction to continue.

• Share the game with friends to earn an extra hint and keep the challenge going!

Scoring and Winning

• Earn 1 point for every letter in a valid word.

• Reach the maximum daily score (5/5 stars) to win the day’s puzzle.

• Track your performance over time and see how your vocabulary grows!

• Start with shorter, common words to open up the grid.

• Prioritize high-value letters for longer combinations.
